On Tuesday, Dec. 10th the Santa Fe boys and girls wrestlers traveled to Enid high school to participate in a tri-dual with the Plainsmen and with Southmoore High School.
In the first dual, versus Southmoore, the Wolves defeated the Sabercats 42-33, in a back-n-forth match. In the late dual, Santa Fe fell to Enid 30-53, but the Wolves kept it close.
Notable scoring for the boys on the day was junior Delane Lamere who pinned both of his opponents at the 144 pound weight-class. Luke Compton, also a junior, defeated both of his opponents in the 215 pound weight-class with falls in both matches.
For the girls, sophomore Kimberly Hernandez, senior Micah Lamere, and 8th grader Marayla Lamere all finished the day undefeated with 2 wins against their opponents.
The wrestlers will split up this week with tournaments on Friday and Saturday. The boys will travel, again, to Enid for the Enid "MAN" Tournament, while the girls will travel to Cache high school for the "Wrestle Like a Girl" Tournament.
